Dev Accounts

Dev rows expose well-known Substrate dev seeds (Alice, Bob, Charlie, and the rest). The private material is public knowledge, so keep these accounts off Finney and any network where real value lives.

Turn dev accounts on or off

Dev accounts appear only while Developer Mode is enabled. Open Settings > Developer Mode > Dev Accounts, or use the Dev filter chip on the Accounts tab. Each toggle tells the background service to register or unregister that specific key.

Enabled dev accounts show in the main list with the DEV badge.

Reach for them on local stacks

Pair dev accounts with a local subtensor node or a public testnet where the standard dev keys ship pre-funded. Signing works like a normal software key because the wallet derives from the published seeds.

When Developer Mode switches off (or its timer elapses), dev accounts hide from the list but stay on disk until you delete them explicitly.
