Software Accounts

Create or import a software account from a mnemonic (or hex seed). You keep full signing locally; no hardware is required.

Generate a new account

From Add Account > Generate New:

  1. Review the preview card (identicon and SS58 address).
  2. Enter a display name.
  3. Pick word count (12, 15, 18, 21, or 24).
  4. Read the mnemonic grid when it appears.
  5. Tap Regenerate for a new phrase or Copy to save it offline.
  6. Tap Confirm & Add Account to persist the account.

The mnemonic is the only recovery path. The wallet does not back it up to a server.

Import an existing account

From Add Account > Import Existing:

  1. Paste a BIP39 mnemonic or a hex-encoded seed.
  2. Watch the derived address update in the preview.
  3. Name the account and tap Import.

Bad word counts or invalid hex surface inline validation errors before you commit.

Export the seed phrase

On the Accounts list, open the menu on a software account and choose Export Seed. Unlock with the wallet password. The seed shows once; copy it and store it somewhere safe.

Send, connect, and sign

Software accounts can send TAO, connect to dApps, sign extrinsics, and export the seed (above). For hardware-backed keys, see Ledger.
