Backup and Restore

Export an encrypted backup

From Settings > Backup & Restore > Backup Wallet:

1. Choose password mode: use the wallet password or set a custom backup password
2. If custom: enter and confirm the backup password (with strength indicator)
3. Optionally add a password hint (stored in the backup file, visible on restore)
4. Optionally change the filename (defaults to a timestamped name with .tawb extension)
5. Tap "Create & Download Backup"

The .tawb file contains the encrypted vault. It can be restored on any device running TaoApp Wallet.

Restore from a backup file

The restore flow is part of Onboarding and Access. From settings, the "Restore Wallet" option navigates to that same flow.
