Terms of Service

This Terms of Service Agreement ("Terms") governs your use of TaoApp Wallet (the "Extension"). TaoApp Wallet is a non-custodial browser extension for the Bittensor network, operated by Latent Holdings (the "Company", "we", "us", "our").
By installing and using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must uninstall the Extension.
The Extension is not a payment service provider, exchange, custodian, or financial advisor.
1. The Extension
TaoApp Wallet provides a self-custody interface for interacting with the Bittensor network. The Extension allows you to:
- Create and manage cryptographic key pairs
- Sign and submit transactions to the Bittensor network
- Connect to Bittensor-compatible dApps
- View account balances and transaction history
The Extension does not custody your assets, execute trades, or provide financial advice. It is not the exclusive means of interacting with the Bittensor network.
2. Eligibility
To use the Extension you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age and of legal contractual capacity in your jurisdiction
- Not be a resident of a Prohibited Jurisdiction
- Not be a Prohibited Person as defined by applicable sanctions laws
Prohibited Jurisdictions include Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Crimea, and the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts of Ukraine.
3. Self-Custody and User Responsibility
TaoApp Wallet is a self-custody tool. You are solely responsible for:
- Safeguarding your seed phrases, passwords, and backup files
- Verifying transaction details before signing
- Managing your accounts, proxies, and multisig configurations
- Maintaining the security of your device and browser
We do not have access to your private keys, cannot reverse transactions, and cannot recover lost seed phrases or passwords.
4. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Extension for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, including money laundering, terrorism financing, or fraud
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Extension
- Use the Extension to transmit malware or harmful code
- Use the Extension for the benefit of a Prohibited Person
5. Third-Party Services
The Extension connects to third-party services including Bittensor RPC nodes and the CoinGecko API. You acknowledge that:
- We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, performance, or security
- Third-party service providers may have their own terms and privacy policies
- You are responsible for selecting and configuring RPC endpoints
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or reliability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
7. Blockchain Risks
Interacting with the Bittensor network carries inherent risks including but not limited to:
- Transaction finality and irreversibility
- Network congestion and fee variability
- Pallet and runtime upgrade risks
- Validator and delegation risks
- Loss of funds due to key mismanagement or signing errors
You assume all risks associated with using the Extension and interacting with digital assets.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or assets, arising from your use of the Extension.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, release, and indemnify the Company and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, demands, losses, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from your use of the Extension, your violation of these Terms, or your interaction with third-party services.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
11. Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for service interruptions resulting from conditions beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of government, terrorism, war, natural disasters, network disruptions, power failures, security breaches, or changes in market conditions.
12. Termination
The Company reserves the right to discontinue the Extension or restrict access at its sole discretion, including to comply with legal requirements or if use violates these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration in George Town, Cayman Islands, in accordance with the Cayman Islands Arbitration Act. The arbitration will be conducted in English by a single arbitrator.
All proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis. You waive your right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration.
14. No Waiver
The failure of the Company to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be a waiver of such right or provision.
15. Assignment
You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. The Company may assign its rights without restriction.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Extension and supersede all prior agreements.
17. Modifications
These Terms may be updated with new releases. Changes will be posted in this document with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
